I'm in Austin, Texas
   Maynard!, September 04

Oh well at a hotel. I arrived at 9 pm and have a job interview tomorrow at 10. I will then fly back to New York. I will hit my head to my pillow at about 3am.

I'm taking some unwanted time away from poker. It is quite unfortunate.

I'm so divided
   Maynard!, September 03

Finally moved into my apartment in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Spent about a month to find an apartment and move- New York is a total fucking bitch. I played poker on my laptop from Starbucks during that period (BIG MISTAKE - I think this is the first time I've logged a red month).

Right now I'm torn between my studies and wanting to play poker. I've come to the realization that I will most likely quit poker once I graduate. I have just about enough to cover living expenses until then. Since I'm going to quit anyway why not take a vacation and only study/enjoy life for the next 2 years? I've logged about 500 hours @ 100/hr since October and am starting to feel that the poker is impacting my grades.

I'm still torn and haven't given up the hope that I can reach the highest levels. In my eyes it is starting to become a more faint possibility. I can't devote myself 100% to poker. I have so many other outside distractions that take a considerable amount of focus and brain energy. Anyway, how many only poker pros pull a consistent 300k+/yr year after year and will continue to do so long down the line? Not many that I know of.

Park Slope
   Maynard!, July 17

I've been spending quite a bit of time looking for apartments in new york. I've been utilizing craigslist, google.com/base, among other search tools. I'm guessing it'll cost me around 2k/month.

So far the best place I think I've found is in Park Slope. Its a bit pricey but oh well. The lower east side has some good prices but its a bit ghetto. Other parts of manhattan have some decent prices but I don't want to live in the middle of 400 bars and have a 400 square foot apartment. Williamsburg is full of hipsters and bars. Bed-stuy is full of criminals. Astoria is nice but too far.

My plane leaves to New York on the 3rd. I'll crash at a buddies place for a week until I find my own place.

Anyone have some NYC apartments they want to get rid of? heh heh heh.
